Laser Hair Removal
Our laser system delivers a specially-tailored light source for permanent hair reduction. Cynosure Elite iQ Laser with Alexandrite + Nd Yag is suitable for all Fitzpatrick skin types. The laser emits infrared light to permanently remove unwanted hair.
What may be expected during a treatment?
When the pulse of light is delivered, some patients experience a mild pinching or stinging sensation. No local anesthesia or pain medication is typically required.

Each treatment you are provided with a cooling air to prevent the body from overheating.
How many treatments will I need?
Most areas require 4 to 8 treatments. However, the number of treatments required for optimal long-term benefits depends on multiple factors such as: hair thickness, area being treated, and your hair’s growth cycle. Each hair grows at a different rate and goes through three distinct phases: growth, regression, and resting. Treatments work by disabling the hair that is principally in the active growth phase at the time of treatment. Since other hairs will enter this active growth phase at different times, additional treatments may be necessary to disable all of the hair follicles in a given area.
Who is best suited for this treatment?
Clients with dark hair.
Laser hair removal, removes hair from all parts of the body including the face, legs, arms, underarms, and back. It can also treat sensitive areas like the chest, nipples, and bikini line.
Pre & Post Care Instructions
Preparing for Laser Hair Removal

Prior to your first laser hair removal appointment, one of our Estheticians will examine your hair and skin type to ensure that treatments will be safe and effective.
In advance of your laser treatments, there are a few things you need to keep in mind to make sure that you are ready for your appointment. If you have any questions about any of our procedures, please contact our office prior to your consultation or appointment.
Follow these guidelines unless your laser technician directs otherwise:
-
Do not use any topical products that cause photosensitivity (e.g. hydroxy acids, salicylic acid, retinols, and benzoyl peroxide) in the treatment areas for three days before treatment. Use a gentle cleanser and lotion on treated areas.
-
Avoid sun exposure to the treatment area, and do not use UV tanning beds at all for two weeks before treatment. Be sure to use a recommended broad-spectrum mineral sunblock with an SPF of 30 or above on a daily basis (rain or shine).
-
Avoid using any self tanner 10-14 days prior to your appointment.
-
Do not have Botox injections, dermal filler injections, chemical peels or microdermabrasion in the treatment area for at least 14 days before laser hair removal.
-
We ask that you are freshly showered or bathed with completely clean skin, without lotions, oils, creams or fragrances of any kind before coming in.
-
Any treatment areas should be shaved completely prior to treatment. Legs should be shaved around 24 hours prior to your appointment to avoid irritation. Do not wax, tweeze, epilate or use chemical depilatories for two weeks before treatment, or at all in between laser treatments. Since the laser targets the root of the hair, it must be present for the treatment to be effective. Shaving is the only form of hair removal recommended during the course of your treatments.
Post Laser Hair Removal
Immediately following your treatment, the area may appear a bit red and swollen. Three to seven days after treatment you may experience what seems to be regrowth of hair. Actually, most of these hairs are being shed as a result of your treatment and are not regrowing. Between treatments you should not wax or pluck your hair, but it is permissible to shave.

Following the treatment, you can return to your normal activities right away, but some redness may occur. The use of sunscreen is recommended on any treated areas exposed to the sun. In addition, we may recommend that you use a specially-formulated skin care product line for your skin type.
